I currently pay what I think is way too much for cable services. Specifically, I have 1 GB fiber internet, television, and a landline VOIP phone. Internet is very important for tons of reasons. The choices we have on TV are, well, decent. And if we didn't have our home alarm, we could get by without the phone since we use our cell phones most of the time.
So I'm considering cutting the cord. But the financial analysis doesn't seem to make sense.

In order to make up for loss of TV and Phone, I figure that I'd have to:
Find comparable TV services
Obtain some satellite phone system
TV
Given our viewing habits, YouTubeTV is the best solution for us. It currently costs about $50 per month. We already have Netflix and Disney+ but may still need to subscribe to some other service in order to ensure we have our favorite shows.
Phone
A satellite phone would cost about $100 for the hardware and then $15 per month.
Analysis
Our net monthly increase would be at least $65 per month however at this time, if we cut the cord with our current provider, we'd likely not reduce our bill by that much. So for now, we keep the status-quo, but keep our eye on it. What's your experience?
